The relationship between the Prince’s founder, Sidney W. Prince, and a Hooker Chemical engineer in Niagara Falls, NY ignited in the 1930s, developing compounds of rubber and plastic that could handle the corrosive nature of manufacturing chlorine and caustic soda. These Panacea® compounds Prince made into the necessary parts to manufacture these chlor-alkali chemicals. Gaskets, piping systems, flexible hoses, and more, were made with these “Cure-All” Panacea® materials to the benefit of the plant’s overall production. Other polymer innovations Prince was involved with, working with groundbreaking WNY companies like Xerox and Eastman-Kodak. Prince’s decades of advancing our unique Panacea® materials, along with the capability of precision fabrication, has benefited Chlor-Alkali Plants worldwide with longer life, reliable cell parts and piping systems.
